Mr. Cheng Peiming survived a forced organ harvesting operation in 2004 and escaped from another attempt in 2006. He finally made it to the United States in 2020 via the United Nations refugee program, thanks to the help from U.S. government officials.
The extensive medical exams Cheng Peiming underwent in the States indicate that he lost segments of his left liver to an operation he didn’t authorize in 2004. Although the liver partially grew back, CT scans show scar tissues and other signs of previous removal.
In addition to partial liver removal, his scans also show that he lost a part of his lungs, which, unlike the liver, doesn’t grow back.
Mr. Cheng, a practitioner of the spiritual practice Falun Gong, ran for his life in China between 2006 and 2015 when he fled to Thailand. He learned that China’s Ministry of Public Security issued a nationwide bounty of 50,000 Yuan (about $6,500 then) to hunt him down, dead or alive.
After The Epoch Times broke the news in 2006 about the forced organ harvesting in China, he realized that it was what happened to him. But he couldn’t confirm that until he arrived in the States.
